Amid the pandemic situation worldwide, learning has not stopped. Just the way of learning has changed a lot. Not that E-learning didn’t exist, but now it’s altogether a different perspective towards it. The concept of traditional education has changed radically within the last couple of years. Being physically present in a classroom isn’t the only learning option anymore — not with the rise of the internet and new technologies, at least.
According to the most recent survey from Babson Survey Research Group, over 30 percent of higher education students in the United States are taking at least one distance course. Online education is a sensible choice whether you’re a teenager or an adult. As a student, this can be a useful learning method for sharpening your skills in a difficult subject or learning a new skill.
Some of the key drivers which make E-Learning the future of education :
- Accessibility: It enables you to complete your learning/courses from anywhere in the world. The virtual classroom is also available anywhere there’s an internet connection, and a good way to take advantage of this is to travel.
- Flexible: Online education enables the teacher and the student to set their own learning pace, and there’s the added flexibility of setting a schedule that fits everyone’s agenda.
- Cost-effective: If compared with the traditional system, E-Learning will be way cost-effective considering the study materials, commute. Discounts can be availed based on the course tenure and the number of courses registered. Few institutions also allow scholarships if the candidate fits into the criteria.
- Customized patterns: The flexibility in learning also allows the selection of courses or the subjects a particular person will require.
- Range of courses: Wide selection of courses & topics are available online by a number of professionals & experts, wherein a person can check the reviews of the course and go ahead for registration. Also, a number of universities & higher education schools offer their courses on a lot of E-learning platforms, whereby not only the range of course changes but the institution from which the training /certification can be completed also have a selection.
India has become the second-largest market for e-learning after the US. Users of online education in India are expected to reach 14.6 million by 2025 from 1.6 million in 2016.
